Construction: fitted on top of a new concrete ramp and covered with a 50mm layer of mastic asphalt
System: heated driveway cables fitted to the entire area

Using bespoke heated driveway cables, HDS designed and installed a heating system which was fully automated and energy efficient.
Technical
The 13 cables used are controlled by air temperature and moisture sensors which come on automatically if there is a risk of snow or ice. They also switch off automatically when not needed. The total electrical load was 55.3Kw (300w/sqm).
This was a cost effective and energy efficient system for the hotel which ensured their guests’ safety during harsh weather conditions.
