Bespoke heated ramp system for luxury apartment project.
The developer was looking for an ice and snow melting system to secure year round access down the step and curved ramp to the underground parking area and also to make the walkway up to the main entrance safe for pedestrian traffic in all weather.
Technical info:
HDS designed and installed 2 x 1.2metre wide heated tracks on this 28meter long, curved ramp to make sure the residents have safe access in and out of the underground parking area.
Using heated tracks compared to heating the full width of the driveway, meant we could keep the power consumption and also the running cost to a minimum.
We also fitted 2 driveway heating cables in the 22sqm main entrance area, to the apartments, to keep it free from snow and ice for pedestrians.
The system will be controlled by a HDS fully automatic ice and snow melting control using 2 ground moisture sensors and one air temperature sensor.
